Handwrytten was founded to fill an unmet need: making sending handwritten notes as easy as sending an email. To solve this problem, the team would need to invest heavily in robotics to build a machine unmatched in handwriting quality and scalability.
Now patent pending, the Handwrytten robot is capable of autonomously writing nearly 1000 notes a day. To scale, the company continues to build more and more machines to meet demand.
We aim to complete all orders within one business day. On rare occasions, it might take two days. We send all notes via First Class postage. Typically, the US Postal Sevice delivers all mail to the continental US in 3-4 days. A map of delivery times can be found here: https://ribbs.usps.gov/modernservicestandards/ssmaps/find_map.cfm (Use “852 Phoenix” for the 3-Digit ZIP and City”.)
Great question! Handwrytten uses custom-designed handwriting robots that hold real pens to write out the notes in the handwriting style of your choice.
Of course! The entire product looks authentic.
It depends on the card, but pricing starts at $3.25. Postage is billed through at cost. Due to new tax rules, sales tax may apply. Bulk discounts are available! Just click “Bulk Send” under any card on our web site to see how low we can go.
Absolutely not. We do not put “Handwrytten” anywhere on the cards or envelopes. The only hint the cards are not sent directly from you is the postmark is from Phoenix, Arizona.
Yes, we can! Contact us and we’ll lend a hand! Keep in mind that our robots use real pens to write your message. This means that the side of the stationery our robots write on must be uncoated otherwise, the ink will smear.
Our handwriting is virtually indistinguishable from human writing. Typically, unless you ask the recipient if the note was written by a robot, they’ll never even think twice about it. Furthermore, the card has your return address and a real stamp. The only “giveaway” is that the postmark will be from Phoenix, AZ (we can’t do anything about this, but most people won’t notice anyway).

Gift cards carry a convenience fee. This is because we cannot get an “activation terminal” in our facility so we have to run out and buy them on your behalf, or pre-buy them at full cost and carry the inventory cost. As such, we only make a profit on these cards if we add a small fee. We feel if the value is there, people will pay for the gift card. If the value isn’t there, then they will pass.
If you don’t want to pay the convenience fee, you can purchase your own gift cards and ship them to us. We will then only charge an insertion fee of $0.20 per card. This method will save you money and you are not limited to the gift cards we offer.
Custom Insert Policy
Custom inserts can be included with notes as long as they are lightweight and fit inside a 5×7 envelope.
We charge a $0.20 fee per insert. (This needs to be pre-paid before the items arrive and you must let us know how many items you will be sending). Once these are added, these would be available on your Handwrytten account and in any connected automation services (Zapier, Salesforce, etc…).
Yes! We now offer custom handwriting. Due to the time involved to create a realistic look, there is a 1-time $750 setup fee. If you would like us to add your signature, we can do that for $250. Ask about multiple signatures and we can give you a custom quote.
We get this a lot. We’re sorry, but we save that job for robots. They seem to like doing it!
